Another day, another billion crafts to do.
I’ve been madly preparing for the upcoming Etsy Spring Fling this Saturday. I made a little schedule for myself to follow for what I need to make each day, but I’ve fallen behind a little bit. :( Add to my poor time management skills the fact that the zippers I ordered over a month ago STILL haven’t arrived and I’m stressing out a little bit! The zipper guy says that they’re on their way and that he re-sent them… but I have a feeling they won’t be getting here until next week… which will be too late! ARGH.
Ah well, there are still lots of other things to do in the meantime… like this!

OK, this picture just makes me laugh. They look like they’re all staring at me! Hahah!

I’m pretty pleased with this set. I always enjoy how they look all piled up together. A customer once commented that they look like marzipan! And I know that I said before that I would be keeping up with Whimsical Wednesdays… so… umm… I’m going to say that my little owls fall under the category of whimsical! Yessah, I run this blog so I make the rules!
So what kind of craftiness have *you* been up to these day? Link your blogs and I’ll check them out! :)

Whimsical Wednesdays seems to be getting neglected! A full and public apology to Whimsical Wednesdays for not paying more attention to you these few weeks. I swear I always had you on my mind, I just didn’t have time to show you! *tear* *tear*
So let’s get on with it, shall we? :)
What is it about gnomes that has the hordes loving them? Is it their cute little pointed hats? Squinty little eyes? Short little legs ending in cute little boots? Gnomes… not sure what it is, but I find them simply fascinating!
So here we go with some gnoticle gnome finds!
Norm the Gnome graces his picture on these great gift tags by Enamor.

One of my favourite Gnome prints by Esoule of Etsy.

I have coveted the things in this shop for the longest time! Perhaps it’s time for a very early birthday gift for myself from Multiple Personality.

You can carry a little gnome-ness with you always if you have one of these pendants by The Pendant Factory.

And for those who are especially fascinated by the little fellows, a vintage Gnome book available at LoudMouse on Etsy.

Ahhhh, that felt good.
Dear Wednesdays, I resolve to be more committed to you and show you public affection once a week! Hope you enjoyed this installment of Gnaughty Gnomes! ;)

I think Whimsical Wednesday just may be my favourite posting theme! I love searching through my bookmarked favourites of artists to see who I might feature for the day. There are so many beautiful paintings, I only wish I had enough wall space to include them all.

I can’t remember how I came upon Kristiana Parm’s Etsy shop KrisBlues… it may have been a happy accident or perhaps she was a featured seller (if she hasn’t been, she should be!) In any case, I was hooked with the first marshmallow tree. What a wonderful world of “harmless” creatures, as she puts it.
The majority of the pieces featured in the shop now are acrylic illustrations on wood – which there are plenty of originals and prints available along with notecard sets.
Ahh, a lovely red fox to do the laundry, just what I need! Oh wait… or is he erm…stealing my pants?

OK, so first of all, this is a painting of a marshmallow tree. And then, there are BUNNIES sleeping in it! How perfect is this?

This puts a smile on my face just like the one that little girl has. :) I love her dreamy look… as if feeding the birds makes all the wrong in the world wash away…

KrisBlues fits my whimsical requirements to a T- cute fairy-tale like creatures in a dreamy woodland setting. These would make fantastic illustrations for children’s books! Oh heck, make them for adults too, they’re too lovely not to share. :)
You can learn more about Kristiana through an interview she did here.

You know, I’ve been on Etsy for quite some time now (Wow, my 3 year anniversary is in March!) and it always surprises me when I discover a successful shop that’s been around for a while that I’ve never seen before. I do *lots* of browsing, and I lurk around on the forums quite a bit (sometimes it’s better just not to post! hah, you know what I’m talking about). So, it was a pleasant surprise to find Amber Alexander’s Etsy shop today full of lovely, whimsical paintings.
This is the painting that first caught my eye. Isn’t she beeeeyuuuutiful?:

Umm, hello, how awesome is this? “Bunny Races”!

And a little devilish cat to throw into the mix:

Doesn’t he look a bit like Meowmi? Heh, he may look fierce, but he’s really not.

OK, so in addition to this great Etsy shop find, Amber Alexander is hosting a print give-away on her blog! CLICK HERE to leave a comment to be entered into the draw. Double score!
OH WAIT, there’s more! AA’s Etsy shop is having an Inauguration Celebration Sale! You have until Wednesday evening at 9pm to take advantage of the sale with prints starting at 12 bucks a pop. w00tw00t! Congrats to the USA and President Obama on this historic event!
Honestly, how much more of this awesomeness can you take? :)

Seems like blogs generally have some sort of posting schedule with catchy names… so why not mine? :)
So here’s to Whimsical Wednesdays, where I feature fantastically whimsical finds. A bit of fairy-tale, a bit woodlandish, a lot dreamy. *sigh*. If only every day were Whimsical Wednesday!
When I found Danita Shop I *gasped* in delight! I wish I could buy everything in her shop, but alas, that’s a difficult thing to do when one, you are lacking in funds, and two, you live like a nomad (Well, planning on living like a nomad anyway!)
Are these nomadic bunnies perhaps?

Many of Danita’s pieces are labeled as “primitive”. I’m not sure what primitive art is, but if this is it, I like it! Maybe it’s also because that girl looks a bit like me… yes… I am normal… very normal…

In addition to being dreamy, Danita’s pieces seem to have some choice phrases of wisdom to spread.

One day, one day, I shall own at least one, or two, or three pieces of Danita’s work! Well, one can dream can’t she? Danita certainly did and clearly, it’s working! :)
