So my Fashion Fridays haven’t been posted in a while… err… I guess better late then never right? :)

Here’s a sampling from my most recent favourites…

I saw ZoeChen on the front page recently and just about died when I saw this dress in her shop! I don’t know if I could pull it off myself, but I just thought it was fab and a bit cheeky! The bold graphic swan is definitely an attention getter. And honestly, could the photo be any cuter?



*drool* Me thinks I need an early birthday gift from RealisationCreations! I think these gold vermeil earrings are so pretty and would look great dressed up or down.



I’m not sure why I like this shirt by RetroWhale so much. Could be because you’ve got a shirtless walrus and lion wearing emo pants just chillin out with a paper airplane. Or maybe it’s just the beefy guy underneath the shirt. Enh.



I discovered Elephant and Chickpea’s shop a little while back (a fellow Vancouverite!) and was pleasantly suprised to find that it was full of handmade shoes! Not many people make shoes, and even though I sew, the prospect of trying to create footwear seems daunting! I love this line from the item description – “they make you look cute and elegant even when you are in the room with your pajamas on.”

I am so sick of wearing my winter jackets. I want something light and lovely. Fun and fashionable. Enough with the Gortex and fleece already! So begins my search for some jackets on Etsy.

I really love finding local treasures. I went looking for jackets online and stumbled upon Adhesif Clothing Company which is of course, located in Vancouver! I love this photo. And I love the jackets. A lot (if not all?) of the clothing comes from recycled fabric and are one-offs. I think I may have seen Adhesif around before… possibly at Portobello? Hmm…not sure…

Have I mentioned my love for herringbone yet? Cuz if I haven’t, I love herringbone. In fact, you’ll find that I happen to love a lot of things. Or so my bf says to me -”is there anything you don’t love?” But of course, my dear. I do not love kitty poop.

So, here we have a herringbone jacket of wool made by Larimeloom. A perfect little jacket for Spring. Oh yeah, I also love buttons. Whee!

Wait a sec… who… is that? Is that Rob Kalin? One of the founders of Etsy? Indeed! And he’s holding a ray gun! Silly Rob, don’t you know, ray guns are for rabbits? I was surprised to see this photo and then upon closer inspection found that the shop, Parachute, is a collaboration between several Brooklyn based artists. This particular piece was made by Ruffeo Hearts Lil Snoty.

Ah, Etsy, how you tempt me with your pretty wears. Wares? No, no, I definitely mean “wears” today! I’ve been dressed in thermal long sleeved tees layered with t-shirts for the past who knows how long. I need to get funkified. Or at least imagine it…

Ah so cute. Who doesn’t need another pair of earrings by Sophie of Tasmania? And at only $6.80 a pop, you’d be cheating yourself not to get a few pairs!

This sweater calls to me! I love Joodito’s work. It looks like all the items in her shop are constructed from salvaged materials which lend themselves to her uber cool asymmetrical style.

Boots from sophistikate. If only these were in my size, dizzam, I’d snatch these babies up in a second!

So there we have it. I’m hooked on the funky fashion finds at Etsy. If I actually had somewhere fun to go, that’s how I’d like Etsy to dress me!

Hmmm…. I’m not sure how I feel about these names… “Fashion Friday”…  I think I need something a bit spunkier! Alas, we’ll have to stick to it for now until something better comes along.

I feel like looking at dresses today. Since there’s no one here to disagree with me, it’s my pick! Yay. Oh wait… it’s my pick every day! Ahh… something to smile about. :)


I am so drooling over this dress by replicca! I have a great love for houndstooth and the colour brown and this dress has style. mmhmm.

Here’s another dress that I’ve been eyeing for some time now. AND, the designer is local! Way to go Vancouver, you have talent. Ureshii’s clothes are simple, but that’s what makes them so stunning. This particular dress might just be my bride’s maid dress this summer! *fingers crossed*

And finally, a cute, yet classy, black number by Lirola. The perfect dress for work or play. Made from sweatshirt fabric, it looks comfy too!

It always amazes me when people design and construct such beautiful garments. Makes me wish I had gone to fashion school! I guess it’s never too late to start though, eh? :)
